Many of us have tasted Asian food before. From Chinese to Japanese, this cuisine is loved throughout the world for its vibrant flavours and delicious textures.
Here at Noya London, we serve up the best Asian food London has to offer, but we refer to what we do as Pan Asian.
This is a style of cooking that encapsulates a broad range of inspirations and ingredients. From the bustling streets of Bangkok to the serene landscapes of Kyoto, Pan-Asian food is diverse and far-reaching.
In this guide, we’re going to answer the most asked questions on Pan-Asian cuisine and explore what makes it so uniquely captivating,
What is Pan-Asian Cuisine?
Let’s start by answering the first question on most customer’s lips.
When we say Pan-Asian, we are referring to cooking methods and ingredients that combine elements from various Asian countries.
We don’t just focus on one style, but instead take the best there is to offer from right across the continent.
The depth of flavour across Asia is so vast that we just can’t settle for one country, and instead want to provide a diverse and rich taste of it all, whether its sushi from Japan or Korean barbecue.
Combining all of this into one dining experience is great for our chefs and for the customer, and providing lots of different dishes means there is something for everyone to enjoy.

What is the Difference Between Asian and Pan-Asian Cuisine?
We’ve touched on this a little bit in the section above, but we want to dig a little deeper into just what the key differences are between these two popular food types.
While Asian cuisine is normally centred around a certain location or style, Pan-Asian is more of a fusion of all of the countries, with innovative ideas and combinations used to create stand-out dishes.
With Pan-Asian, you may find Japanese Miso being incorporated into dishes blended with Thai spices, as well as other traditional ingredients.
The aim with this form of cuisine is to harmonise flavours, respecting their origin whilst using them in new and exciting ways.
Is Pan-Asian Food Healthy?
While like everything, intake amounts is key, pan-asian food can be incredibly healthy.
Of course, some meals are healthier than others, and it does depend on which ingredients are being used, but on a whole, there are some great choices of dishes available to somebody who may want to try this cuisine.
Pan-Asian cooking often focuses on fresh vegetables, lean proteins, and herbs and spices, all of which come packed with various health benefits.
Some cooking methods, such as steaming, boiling, and grilling are also beneficial.
While there is a lot of good, like any cuisine from around the world, it can vary. Choosing the right dishes is key, and so if you’re focusing on healthy eating, this can definitely be a good location for you to get great food without any badness.

Our Pan-Asian Dishes
Our menu here at Noya London offers a trip across Asia with plenty of different flavours spread across our dishes.
We want to run through three of these for you now, with an emphasis on why they are quintessentially Pan-Asian.
Padron Gyuniku Kushiyaki
Japanese robata grilling is an incredibly popular way of cooking meat and other foods. In this dish, beef skewers are meticulously grilled which lends a delicious smokey undertone to the meal.
This is the perfect fusion dish, incorporating European flavours from ingredients such as the Padron peppers, as well as Teriyaki sauce to provide a sweet and sticky glaze straight from Japan.
Alongside this, the yuzu miso truffle sauce is the perfect accompaniment, offering a subtle yet zingy addition, as well as a tasty recognition of some of Japan’s most beloved fruits.
Finished off with some Japanese pickle, and you have the perfect meal that takes you on a journey across the world, starting from our homeland of Japan.
Sake Sashimi
If you’ve ever been lucky enough to visit Japan, then chances are you may have stumbled upon Sashimi.
This is a simple yet elegant dish and uses this staple of Japanese cuisine to create a mouthwatering plate.
The star of the show is the delicate slices of raw salmon, seared lightly to bring out their oily texture whilst maintaining its unmistakable taste.
This is accompanied by crispy daikon radish dressed with ponzu, a delightful citrus-based sauce that adds a touch of vibrant flavour to the plate.
These dishes alone are enough to create a whirlwind of flavour, but when you also add the Japanese mixed herbs, kizami wasabi, and shisho leaf, you have something that provides layers of flavour that are always rooted in our Asian roots.
Salmon Kobura Maki
When people think of Japanese cuisine in particular, they often think of sushi.
One of Japan’s most famous exports, sushi is loved across the world, and our sushi rolls pay homage to this tradition.
This dish puts a creative spin on traditional maki, combining crispy prawn tempura with seared salmon to create a delightful seafood combination.
This lovely seafood is tightly wrapped in avocado slices and cucumber batons, adding to the myriad of textures that are achieved in this dish.
With a touch of freshness from the shisho leaf, there is an unmistakably Asian feel to this dish.
But we don’t stop there. Yuzu mayo adds a touch of citrus and fried kataifi (thin strands of pastry) and ikura are added to the roll to add yet more textures and tastes.
It’s a multilayered culinary creation that we are proud to serve.
